Our Story

Chef Paul Suplee and his team at the award-winning boxcar40 in Pittsville, Maryland persevered long enough to have a dream offer fall into their lap; a second restaurant space in downtown Berlin, Maryland. Berlin is officially America's Coolest Small Town, and to have this space become available, pandemic or not, he simply could not pass it up! And the rest is history.

The Pompei Oven is the first thing you'll notice when you walk in, warm flames jumping in the back of the cooking vessel. This is where our now-famous Garlic Roasted Oysters are cooked to perfection. Gooey Brie with homemade berry preserves and pickled red onions? Yep, that comes out of there as well. If you want to feast on a whole roasted bronzino, you got it! There's just something special about roasting in a brick oven. It is superb.

With an elevated wine list and a Bourbon 'ego alley' that boasts a Pappy 10. How many brand new restaurants do you know of with Pappy on the shelf? Diners have the option to enjoy fine wines, local beers and even Natty Light. We don't discriminate.

Upstairs is available for private parties. Very soon, we plan to open upstairs as the Millworker's Union, a speakeasy that only the cool kids will know about. We are stoked to be a part of this amazing town!
